Little White Alice is a collection of six cottages and two shepherds’ huts, situated in rural West Cornwall, that make an ideal base to retreat into or explore from. The cottages come in a range of sizes, sleeping between two and 12 guests.
Short breaks are available out of season and over 60% of the accommodation is dog friendly. Onsite there are 29 acres of land to explore with sheep, alpacas, pigs, chickens and ponies to help look after.
Unique luxurious interiors are furnished with handcrafted work by local artisans, along with wi-fi and all the mod cons you might need to keep in touch with the world. Having said that, you may prefer to switch off completely and relax in the wood-burning hot tub with only the stars for company.
Sustainability and environmental health are at the heart of every decision made in the creation and maintenance of Little White Alice. From meeting over 82% of its own energy needs and all of its own water needs to planting only bee-friendly plants, this eco retreat balances warm, cosy, well-insulated holiday cottages and shepherds huts with wildlife-friendly land.
The swimming pool is filtered through a reed bed, the hot tub is heated by wood and their farm animals are chosen from rare breeds. Welcome hampers are chosen from the best local suppliers and include honey from the resort’s own bees and eggs from its chickens.
On-site activities include craft sessions on the artist’s studio, animal feeding every morning and Shetland pony experiences. To help offset guests’ carbon footprints, a tree is planted in coppicing woodlands for every booking taken.
