The U.S. Coast Guard estimated 4,200 gallons spilled after the vessel Pac Antares struck a pier Thursday near Nashville Avenue Wharf, releasing heavy fuel oil into the Mississippi River. the oil coated rocks along the river bank in New Orleans French Quarter. Other major art’s festivals in New Orleans are also sponsored by oil and gas companies including the Jazz and Heritage Festival which is sponsored by Shell.
