2023’s Eco Lifestyle Award winners

The Beauty Shortlist’s third annual Eco Lifestyle Awards honour Earth-friendly heroes of 2023

Every single day, our actions and decisions either help or damage our collective home.

The things we buy and the products we use all have an impact on the planet – the ingredients inside are flushed into our waterways and the packaging often lands up in landfill.

The good news is that it’s easier than ever to make a sustainable switch that will make a positive difference – from changing to a solid shampoo bar to choosing natural, ocean-friendly laundry detergents.

By committing to ethical brands that offer natural products in recycled or refillable packaging, you’ll also be supporting businesses that are doing things right (while diverting funds from the businesses that need to change).

‘You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference and you have to decide what kind of a difference you want to make.’

Eco alternatives

Today (15 June), The Beauty Shortlist has revealed the winners of its third annual Eco Lifestyle Awards.

The list features this year’s highest-scoring baby and beauty heroes, planet-friendly products and all the products the judges loved, and are sure you will enjoy, too.

This year’s kindest-to-the-planet winners embrace multiple sectors from beauty, self-care and wellness to green home and baby brands. Some of the highlights are below, but you can read the full list of winners on the Beauty Shortlist site here.

MOST INNOVATIVE ECO PACKAGING OF THE YEAR

The Most Innovative Eco Packaging of the Year Award is shared by two brands:

Liv Botanics
Liv Botanics’ packaging is made from fast-growing miscanthus fibre (‘elephant grass’) paper. This captures more than four times more greenhouse gases per hectare than a forest with trees. Elephant grass can also be harvested annually and grown free from fertilisers on marginal land, encouraging soil regeneration. The paper factory used by Liv Botanics is covered with 1,444 solar panels.

Coraline Natural Skincare
Coraline Natural Skincare’s balm pots are made with 100% compostable and biodegradable Sulpac ®, developed in Finland and made from plant binders and woodchips. These are by-products from the wood industry, derived from sustainably managed forests.

Other eco beauty winners include Dook (artisan soap), Moksa (refillable skincare), Chapter Organics (bath/body/aromatherapy) and Holistic London (home fragrance), refillable candle brand Purscents, and Surmanti and Ecozone (both green cleaning products).
