Models rest between shows in The Model Zone

Weleda is back in The Model Zone for London Fashion Week (18-22 February), following the two-year disruption caused by the pandemic.

The original green beauty brand is once again hosting a sustainable sanctuary for models to rest and recharge between shows, fittings and photo-shoots.

Weleda has supported this wonderful project for 14 years, and is very much at the heart of the initiative, which creates a welcoming space that supports models’ health and wellbeing.

A wellbeing sanctuary

The Model Zone provides models with a haven where they can relax, unwind, eat healthily, take off their makeup, kick off their shoes and enjoy a little pampering with Weleda’s organic skincare.

Weleda’s team of Wellbeing Advisors Karon Stubbs, Nisha Jani, Gabrielle Haynes, Rosa Gomez and Svetlana Radziuviene will provide relaxing mini massages and 1:1 skincare consultations.

The team will be using Weleda’s new organic Calendula & Chamomile Hand Sanitiser to look after models in the lounge area, and the models will take a sample home with them in the coveted gift bags.

This season the exclusive Model Zone goody bag contains not only samples of cult classic Skin Food and its sibling Skin Food Light, but also a handy Skin Food Lip Balm to keep lips moisturised and protected against February’s cold.

Weleda’s new Prickly Pear Cactus 24h Hydrating Facial Lotion will keep skin smooth and hydrated all day, while the luxurious Pomegranate Regenerating Body Lotion and soothing Almond Sensitive Hand Cream will nourish and replenish all week long.

A travel-sized tube of Calendula Shampoo & Body Wash will keep models fresh and fragrant between shows.

New LFW collaboration

This season Weleda is excited to collaborate with makeup designer Famida Pathan for the Helen Anthony show at 16:30 on Monday 21 February 2022.

The look Famida is creating for the show will be subtly mattified velvety skin contrasting with bold glowy lips, inspired by the structured and impeccably tailored silhouettes of the beautiful clothes by British designer Naeem Anthony.

‘The skin is hydrated, healthy and luxurious with a smooth velvety finish. To achieve this look, skin will be prepped with Weleda’s Aknedoron Purifying Lotion then moisturised with the Prickly Pear Cactus 24hr Hydrating Facial Lotion. To set and finish, the Prickly Pear Cactus Hydrating Facial Mist is then spritzed all over.

‘There will be minimum eye makeup, set against a bold glossy wet lip, which will be hydrated using Skin Food Lip Balm. The cheeks are sculpted and strong.

‘Finally the skin on hands and arms is hydrated using the Skin Food Body Lotion. This look is about strength, confidence and unquestionable self belief. Believe in yourself, be confident and follow your heart.’

Naeem Anthony designs his own fabrics in collaboration with British luxury mills while working hard to represent a rich variety of different cultures.

The collection will be modelled by 30 models, supported by a large crew of 11 makeup artists.
