Every generation inherits the world created by those who came before them; rather than asking what kind of planet we will leave behind, we should look at whether we are empowering the next  generation with the values, confidence and compassion to care for it.

Around the world, young people are increasingly aware of the challenges shaping their future. Climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution, declining wellbeing and growing social disconnection have left many questioning what kind of world they will inherit.

Yet alongside these challenges is something equally powerful: a generation ready to lead with creativity, compassion and purpose.

Climate, peace & unity

This September, the world will come together around two important global moments. During Climate Week NYC (20-27 September) leaders, innovators and communities will explore solutions for a more sustainable future, while the International Day of Peace (21 September) will unite people across cultures around a shared vision of hope, cooperation and harmony.

The Love Peace Harmony Foundation will join the Peace Day celebrations in New York’s Times Square, standing alongside a growing global movement committed to creating a more peaceful and sustainable future.

These conversations are closely aligned with Organic September, which reminds us that sustainable living is about more than the choices we make as consumers. It is about cultivating healthier relationships – with ourselves, with one another and with the natural world.

Together, these global moments point towards one shared responsibility: how do we empower the next generation to create a healthier, more peaceful and more sustainable world?

For the Love Peace Harmony Foundation, the answer begins with transforming people as well as well as the planet.

A practical pathway

For decades, the Love Peace Harmony foundation has shared a vision that lasting change begins within the individual and expands outwards through families, communities and humanity as a whole.

When we cultivate greater love, peace and harmony within ourselves, we naturally create healthier relationships, stronger communities and a more conscious connection with the world around us.

Richard Rogers, the executive director of the Love Peace Harmony Foundation, is working towards an ambitious global goal to bring love, peace and harmony to two billion households worldwide. It is a movement founded on the belief that lasting transformation happens one person, one family and one community at a time.

This vision comes to life through three interconnected pillars: nurture yourself, support others, heal the planet. Together, they offer a practical pathway for creating positive change – beginning in the heart and spreading out to humanity and the world.

Growing leaders from within

When we nurture greater peace, compassion and balance within ourselves, we create the foundation for healthier relationships, stronger communities and a more sustainable future.

Today’s young people are not only inheriting environmental challenges; many are also navigating rising levels of stress, anxiety, loneliness and uncertainty. If we hope to empower future generations as compassionate leaders and environmental stewards, we must also  support their wellbeing, resilience and sense of purpose.

Across the Foundation’s global community, people come together through Love Peace Harmony music, calligraphy art, meditation and daily practices that encourage balance, gratitude and connection.

Together, these experiences create a positive environment of compassion and shared  purpose – what the Foundation refers to as the Love Peace Harmony Field. At its heart is a simple message: when people experience greater inner harmony, they are better equipped to support others and contribute positively to the world around them.

Building communities that thrive

The Foundation’s growing global volunteer network – the Love Peace Harmony World Movement – helps to extend the Foundation’s philosophy outwards into communities.

All round the world, volunteers contribute their time, skills and compassion to support initiatives connected with education, wellbeing, community outreach and service.

These experiences are especially powerful for young people; they learn that leadership is not defined by age or position, but by the willingness to contribute, collaborate and care. Through service, they discover that even small actions can create meaningful change.

In a world that can often feel divided, building stronger communities rooted in kindness, empathy and connection is essential to creating a sustainable future.

Inspiring environmental stewardship

Protecting the environment begins with recognising our deep connection to the natural world. The Love Peace Harmony Foundation brings this principle to life through initiatives that empower people of all ages to become active participants in creating a healthier planet.

Through its tree planting initiatives, communities come together to restore ecosystems, support biodiversity and create a lasting legacy for future generations. Every tree planted represents hope, responsibility and a commitment to the world we share.

Through Plastic to Purpose, children discover that environmental challenges can become opportunities for creativity and innovation. By transforming discarded plastic into useful products, they learn about sustainability, responsibility and the power they have to create change today. They discover they are not simply leaders of tomorrow – they are changemakers today.

Together, these initiatives demonstrate that sustainability is not only about protecting nature, but about creating a culture where caring for the planet becomes part of everyday life.

Peace & sustainability

Climate solutions require innovation, science, education and investment, but perhaps most importantly of all they require a level of collaboration that requires something deeper: trust, compassion and a willingness to work together for the benefit of all. This is why peace and sustainability cannot be separated.

Climate Week NYC will bring together global voices to shape the future of our planet, and the Love Peace Harmony Foundation’s participation in the International Day of Peace celebrations in Times Square reflects a wider message: a sustainable future requires not only solutions for the planet, but a transformation in how we relate to one another.

Through music, calligraphy art, meditation, service and shared purpose, the Foundation brings people together across cultures and communities, creating opportunities for connection, compassion and collective action.

Looking to the future

This September, the Love Peace Harmony Foundation’s focus on Empowering the Next Generation is about a responsibility to ensure young people inherit not only cleaner oceans, greener landscapes and healthier ecosystems, but also the confidence, compassion and leadership skills to protect  them.

Whether through planting trees, mentoring young people, volunteering, reducing waste, supporting environmental education or choosing kindness in our everyday lives, every action contributes to a more harmonious future.

Every tree we plant, every child we empower, every volunteer we inspire and every heart we uplift brings us one step closer to Master Sha’s vision of bringing Love, Peace and Harmony to two billion households worldwide.

The future will not be transformed by one extraordinary act, but by billions of everyday choices rooted in compassion, service and hope. The greatest environmental movement begins not with planting the first tree, but with nurturing the first heart that will choose to plant it.
