‘Detox Football’ Protest against Adidas in Hong Kong

Greenpeace activists stand in front of a logo in the shape of ‘dripping dirty water’ outside the Adidas store in Mongkok, Hong Kong to protest and highlight the sports apparel giant’s dirty secrets. Activists are protesting around the world, to remind Adidas of its environmental responsibility to clean up the production of World Cup 2014 merchandise. Adidas, the official sponsor of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, has introduced jerseys, gloves, shoes and other products that contain a variety of toxic and hazardous substances.
