Who brought mindfulness to the House of Lords? What made The Sun’s Face of ’72 champion organic? How can tech be used to create a fair and clean energy sector? Where do the quantum physicist and hair geek fit in?

Get answers to all of these questions – and more – at a special FuturePlanet Presents event in London on 06 December. Jarvis Smith, founder of the P.E.A. (People. Environment. Achievement.) Awards and co-founder of MyGreenPod.com, will share the floor with a group of trailblazers from the business sector who are operating beyond people, planet, profit, and instead working in co-creation with the universe.

A chat at ‘the bar’

The P.E.A. Awards, in association with Octopus Energy, is the UK’s leading sustainability awards, and is now in its eighth year. Every year it scours the planet for green superheroes – and has found the most amazing human beings along the way.

This event will get up close and personal with the people behind the organisations that are operating beyond people, planet and profit. These are the individuals who govern spirited businesses, organisations and movements that are changing the world forever.

But how and why do they do what they do, what makes them different from other business leaders – and what can the rest of us learn from them?

In this P.E.A. Session, Jarvis will pour everyone a G&T and ask the questions we all want to know the answers to: is society really on the threshold of a mass shift in consciousness? Who’s calling the shots? What’s really going on with plastics?

The chat will be informal, with a bar-style set up, and all speakers will speak honestly about their experiences of leading and calling for change – whether it’s in politics, among celebrities, in business or with customers. The gin will flow so expect candid speaking about challenges, causes for celebration and day-to-day life at the leading edge.

FUTUREPLANET PRESENTS

The night is part of the FuturePlanet Presents series, which profiles the talented pioneers shaping our future planet across sustainable lifestyles – from oceans, plastics, clean tech and energy, and through fashion, zero waste, sustainable living, food, travel, transport, health and beauty.

‘I feel honoured and enthusiastic that Jarvis and Katie are aligning the P.E.A Awards with FuturePlanet. Championing the individuals and teams that are changing the face of our planet is so very important. It takes bravery to truly open your heart and collaborate. Through this collaboration, we can support, champion and inspire more people to join together and create a better future.’

Jo’s love of the organic lifestyle came from a health scare in 1989, which changed the way she wanted to live. Starting with the food she ate – she learnt everything she could about organic farming – her passion for all things organic quickly turned to products she used on her skin.
