The award-winning ethical footwear brand Po-Zu was launched in 2006 from the back room of a little house in Islington, London. It’s hard to believe, but the original range consisted of two house slippers – made in Glastonbury at one of the last remaining shoe factories in the country.
Po-Zu’s founder, Sven Segal, is a sustainable shoe designer who spent a decade creating shoes for mainstream brands before deciding to take the leap and pursue his passion for eliminating unnecessary harmful substances from the shoe industry.
The formidable Safia Minney MBE FRSA, formerly the CEO of People Tree, became the ethical footwear brand’s managing director in 2017.
The Butterfly sneaker – part of Po-Zu’s new ethical Sri Lankan range – reflects all the same sustainability pillars on which Sven Segal began Po-Zu.
These gorgeous sneakers have an organic cotton canvas upper, a coconut husk and natural latex Foot Mattress™ and Fair Trade rubber soles, certified by the Fair Rubber Association.
