Iconic London landmark OXO Tower Restaurant, Bar and Brasserie has partnered with food waste fighting app Too Good To Go to prevent unsold food from going to waste.

The partnership will see OXO use Too Good To Go to reduce food waste. Launching with its superior Afternoon Tea, the Restaurant will offer freshly produced, unserved food for purchase through the app at the end of service.

Rescuing waste food

Too Good To Go connects businesses that have unsold food with consumers, who can save a ‘Magic Bag’ of surplus food from going to waste.

Consumers simply download the free Too Good To Go app and search for nearby restaurants and retailers with leftover food. They then purchase the food for a great price through the app, and collect it from the store.

‘Our aim is to eliminate food waste globally, and it’s great to have iconic partners such as OXO Tower working with us on the cause. Reducing food waste not only makes good business sense, but it’s a big win for the planet, helping to curb harmful CO2 emissions.’

UK MD of Too Good To Go

Sustainability at OXO

As a founding member of the Sustainable Restaurant Association, OXO has various environmental credentials, ranging from its new vegan burger to a zero-waste menu developed in collaboration with Tom Hunt earlier this year.

‘We pride ourselves on providing the finest local produce to prepare and serve hot and cold food in our Restaurant, Bar and Brasserie. Day to day it can be hard to predict exactly how much produce is needed for service and of course, we want to make sure anything that doesn’t get served is enjoyed, not wasted, so partnering with Too Good To Go is the perfect way to achieve this.’

General manager at OXO Tower Restaurant, Bar and Brasserie

OXO won the Sustainability Award at the National Restaurant Awards in June, and staff members participate in regular beach cleans.

The Too Good To Go partnership is the latest step in the team’s mission to eliminate wasted food and become even more sustainable.
