The Apple Tree Company offers a stylish, contemporary range of furniture made from engineered, rigid paperboard. The engineered board has a patented core which is a high-density paper fibre structure tilted to 15 degrees. The closed cell technique gives a perfectly balanced weight/strength ratio to position paper as a highly viable alternative to other materials for furniture design – with many other benefits too.
The recycled content varies from 40-100% and all is as easily recycled as paper or cardboard. Most products (not Brown finish) also include an FSC-certified liner which provides water repellent qualities. Coffee, red wine and blueberry stains come of easily – just wipe the surface with a dry or damp cloth. In addition to environmental considerations, engineered paperboard contains no harmful chemicals such as VOCs and furniture is manufactured using water-based adhesives.
