Organic Beauty & Wellbeing Week

To celebrate Organic Beauty & Wellbeing Week, the Soil Association is hosting its very first pop-up organic beauty and wellbeing shop at Protein Studios, New Yard Inn, Shoreditch from 15-21 May.

You’ll get chance to meet the people behind the brands, shop for new product ranges and sit in on panel discussions, workshops and talks from some of the very best in the organic beauty and wellbeing business including Viridian Nutrition, Neals Yard Remedies, VOYA, Therapi Honey Skincare, Bamford, Herbfarmacy, Nourish skincare, Naissance, La-Eva, Odylique, The YES company, Natracare and more.

Your £5 charity donation will go towards campaigning on a variety of issues around changing the way food and products are produced, from demanding honest labelling on organic products to lobbying for a more sustainable food and farming system.

Energising Yoga with Cristina Chandika Ma

17 May 2017, 8:30-10.00

The goal of this early morning class to is to gently energise the body and clear the mind ready for the day ahead. It includes bodily postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), guided relaxation (shavasana) and meditation (dhyana).

By learning proper relaxation and meditation the body comes to its own natural state of health and ease. These practices also have a profound effect on the mind, making it more relaxed and centred. Join Bamford for this very special class which incorporates new organic Essential Oil Blends into your practice.

Beautiful Inside & Out

17 May 2017, 17:30-18.00

Ben Brown (Viridian Nutrition) will help you gain an understanding of gut health and learn how to be in tune with your body’s natural rhythm. You’ll see how organic supplements and foods can have life-changing effects on your long-term health.

Soil Association’s Health & Beauty business development manager, Lauren Bartley, will share her personal story of living with Chron’s disease and the importance of finding a balanced diet and lifestyle.

Signe Johansen, author of How to Hygee: The Secrets of Nordic Living, will share some of her tips and tricks for a mindful and beautiful life and how she thinks we have a lot to learn from the Nordic approach.

Sarah Macklin, top model and nutrition editor at Women’s Health will talk about understanding how food can affect health and beauty and will share some simple tips for maintaining a healthy balanced diet that will also help you look and feel great.

A Night of Food & Beauty

18 May 2017, 18:30-22.00

An evening to talk beauty, wellness and everything in between! You’ll get chance to meet organic brand founders and shop new product ranges, plus a live cooking demo by FoodFuel author and chef Oliver McCabe. Drinks will be provided by the Soil Association and the first 50 people to arrive will receive a free goodybag with a voucher for 20% off products bought that evening.

Mindful Beauty & Wellbeing

20 May 2017, 12:00-13.00

Jillian Lavender, founder of London Meditation Centre, explores the close connection between mind and body and how your environment can have a profound affect on beauty and wellbeing.

Joining Jillian will be Fran Johnson, Neal’s Yard Remedies’ head formulator. Fran will look at the roll essential oils play in organic skincare and their therapeutic benefits. Tanya Hawkes, founder of Therapi, will share her story of how the power of Nature within organic beauty can work wonders on both the body and mind.
