Wowo is hosting a camping experience for parents with kids under the age of five.
A week of activities has been tailored to allow you and your little ones to participate in a relaxed, outdoor environment in Wapsbourne, in the heart of Sussex. The Pellingford Brook runs through the centre of the campsite to provide water-edge camping. The special Tipi Trail – woodland camping at its best – is nestled alongside the brook
You can go on a mini beast hunt, make charcoal, enjoy nature’s playground, listen to stories in the tipi, cook soup round the campfire with other adults on hand and still have time to visit the Bluebell railway for a train ride.
2019’s Little Wowo weeks will take place 03-06 June and 01-04 July.
This special week is great value for money; for £15 per child (babes in arms are free of charge) you get three days of activities and all you need to bring is your family – ready to get involved and explore the outdoors in a variety of ways.
You will need to make a separate camping booking and provide all your own food. Camping costs £10 per adult per night, £5 per child per night (aged four to 16). Kids under the age of three are free.
A special Nature’s First Aid workshop will enable the whole family to enjoy a walk in Wowo’s lovely countryside and learn what nature provides for our first aid and health needs.
On the Herbal First Aid practical workshop, walk and talk, run by Alice Bettany, you’ll receive practical tips for herbal first aid. You’ll take a short foraging walk and meet some of the local plants that grow abundantly all over the UK.
Basic botany skills will be introduced and clear tips on how to safely identify these common ‘weeds’ again. With your harvest and some additional materials back at camp you will learn several different first aid applications ideal for both on-the-hoof use as well as a more prepared situation with a well-stocked herbal first aid kit.
You will go away with a list of ingredients, as well as instructions for use, to compile your very own herbal first aid kit yourself at home. You will also make one product to take home. Please bring a notepad and pen, maybe a camera to take photos of the plants for future ID purposes, suitable clothing/footwear for cold/hot/wet weather and uneven terrain, plus a drink.
