Home » The secret to anti-ageing?
We were very excited to see Inlight’s new Line Softener Intensive Formula launch at the Anti-Ageing Health and Beauty Show at London Olympia over the weekend. As well as being 100% organic and GM-free, four new botanical stars have been added to Inlight’s original Line Softener, following further research by Dr Mariano Spiezia.
Clinical trials have shown that in 56 days of use, 100% of women using the super-luxe Line Softener Intensive experienced ‘intensely hydrated skin’. 95% found their skin ‘smoother and more elastic’ and 70% saw a visible reduction in the total surface area, length, number and depth of their wrinkles.
So it’s doing its job, then. But how does it work? Dr Mariano Spiezia, the man behind the formula, explains how spirulina extract and Argan oil smooth the passage of time and help combat the effects of pollution and stress.
Spirulina is a type of blue-green algae, often deemed the most nutritionally complete of all food supplements. It contains a rich supply of many important nutrients, including protein, complex carbohydrates, iron and vitamins A, K and B complex. It is easily absorbed by the body and is loaded with anti-oxidants.
It has a high concentration of carotenoids such as beta carotene (10 times more concentrated than carrots!) and yellow xanthophylls, which have anti-oxidant properties. It is also rich in chlorophyll, fatty and nucleic acids and essential fatty acids, including omega-6.
Spirulina’s anti-oxidant nutrients are highly effective at fighting free radicals, the cell-damaging molecules absorbed by the body through pollution, poor diet, injury or stress. By removing these damaging elements, spirulina helps the immune system to fight cellular degeneration and disease.
When taken internally it is an excellent supplement for maintaining good health. Spirulina activates the cellular metabolism, speeding up many internal chemical reactions and slowing down the ageing process. Its high chlorophyll content boosts oxygen and vitality in the cells and tissues of the body and also in the skin, contributing to optimum health.
When used in beauty products, spirulina’s range of health-boosting nutrients offers exceptional anti-oxidant, anti-ageing and rejuvenating benefits, actively supporting the skin to fight free radicals and maintain a healthy, youthful glow.
Argan oil comes only from the Argan forest in the South of Morocco, where still now the Berber women pick the Argan fruits by hand. It’s an extraordinary gift from nature, containing a whole array of wonderful skin-loving nutrients.
It is very rich in Tocopherol (vitamin E) – three times richer in fact than olive oil. Vitamin E plays a vital role in protecting the skin from the attack of free radicals, and in preventing and treating lines and wrinkles.
This lovely oil also contains rich concentrations of vegetable squalene, effective at protecting the outer layer of the skin from harmful UV rays and other damaging oxidising sources, such as pollution.
Other especially important nutrients include the antioxidant vitamin A, essential fatty acids omega-3 and omega-6 (both highly regenerative and anti-inflammatory), sterols and xanthophyll.
An anti-ageing ingredient par excellence, Argan oil promotes the production of collagen (a protein which supports all the body tissues, including the skin) and so helps to prevent the formation of lines.
Argan oil, with its hydrating, nourishing, protective and regenerative properties, is highly effective at helping to maintain the hydrolipidic layer of the skin, promoting a smooth, radiant complexion.
