Yoga Camp 2019

It's not quite a retreat, not quite a festival – but perfect for anyone who loves yoga, camping and food

Yoga Camp 2019

Yoga Camp (17-19 May 2019) is small enough to be intimate and large enough to meet new friends. Set in a wonderful rural local location in Sussex, it brings together a dynamic, nurturing group of people of all ages and abilities.

This is a fantastic opportunity to get away with your family and friends for a healthy weekend break, full of activities for all or choose to do less. All adult yoga classes are tailored to suit beginners.

Wowo campsite

Yoga Camp takes place at Wowo Campsite, surrounded by beautiful Sussex countryside. Pellingford Brook runs through the centre of the campsite, providing water-edge camping.

Wowo provides everything that makes camping magical – you get your own fire pit and an on-site shop has everything you might have forgotten, from tinned goods to fire wood, wine and vegan marshmallows.

The campsite is lovely and large, catering for both adult camping and family camping. Campervans are welcome.

A space for wellbeing

Yoga Camp host Janee Swan has over 15 years’ experience of producing wellbeing areas for large festivals and events in the UK, including the first of its kind at the Big Chill Festival in 2002, named ‘Body and Soul’. Other wellbeing areas have been included at Bestival, Latitude, Camp Bestival and Love Supreme.

Janee has pulled together a fantastic crew of experienced yoga and wellbeing teachers and and massage therapists, who will provide lessons and therapies for all ages throughout the weekend.

If you want to just dip in, day passes and half-price ‘Support Partner’ tickets are also available.

Kids’ yoga and crafts

Children’s activities are fun and diverse: playing, making and learning something new within the theme of ‘Wild Wellbeing’ and forest school.

The yoga schedule includes family and kids’ yoga classes for four- to seven-year-olds and seven- to 10-year-olds.

A hangout area will be created for the over-12s so they have a space to be creative and chat of their own. As well as a daily teen yoga schedule, there will be badminton, circus skills, henna tattoos and family cooking.

Additional workshops are available for an extra £5.50 – they include Bushcraft Adventure, Primitive Weapons and Bushcraft Art and Crafts.

A ‘no devices’ policy runs for set periods in the day to encourage being ‘present’.

Food at Yoga Camp

Yoga Camp is as passionate about food as it is about yoga and music. Delicious vegetarian meals are included in the price – all freshly prepared in the camp kitchen with loving kindness. In gratitude, everyone dines together.

The meals served to you over the weekend will be fresh, organic where possible and balanced, with vegan options. They’re designed to give you energy, nutrition, delight and satisfaction.

There’s also a Whirled Smoothie + Espresso Bar which will be ‘Open all Hours’ for a Breakfast Granola Bowl and in-between hot and cold drinks and snacks, including signature Raw Chocolate Balls, Amazeballs, organic espresso coffee, turmeric and ginger shots, summer smoothies and herbal teas.
