Take a Skin Food Selfie!

This weekend is the perfect time to experiment with natural beauty – and this is how you can help to protect penguins at the same time

As well as falling bang in the middle of Organic September, this weekend marks the intersection of the Soil Association’s Organic Beauty & Wellbeing Week, London Beauty Week and London Fashion Week – so there’s never been a better time to try natural cosmetics.

The (09-14 September) is an annual campaign geared towards raising awareness of certified organic beauty and wellbeing products and the importance of certification and making sustainable choices.

Making one small swap to your self-care routine is the first step to making a world of difference. A small change to your lifestyle – starting with what’s in your wash bag – can contribute to an entire system that’s helping to combat climate emergency and biodiversity loss.

If you’re new to natural beauty, there will be plenty of opportunities to give great products a try. Check for samples in local independent health stores and look out for pop-up shops showcasing the best of organic and natural beauty.

Get your Skin Food fix

Those who will be in London 11-15 September can head over to Covent Garden to enjoy a luxurious hand massage at Weleda’s Nice Cream Van.

If you’re already a member of Weleda Skin Food’s A-lister-packed fan club, you can use this weekend to help spread the message about this natural wonder balm.

Take a Skin Food Selfie

Weleda is encouraging Skin Food fans, models, makeup artists and customers from all walks of life to enjoy a makeup free moment this weekend.

Pamper your skin with just a little Skin Food (or Skin Food Light, or indeed Skin Food Lip Balm!), take a photo of your naturally beautiful face and post it on social media using the handle @weledauk and the hashtag #skinfoodselfie to help spread the word.

Supporting penguin conservation

Over the Skin Food Selfie Weekend you’ll be get an opportunity to make a £2 donation to The Global Penguin Society, the world’s first coalition for the protection of penguins.

It combines science, management and education to protect penguins across the Southern Hemisphere and use them as a flagship for wider conservation of the marine environment.

For every £2 raised here between 14 September 2019 and midnight 15 September 2019, Weleda will match the donation, doubling funds for the GPS (up to a total of £10,000).

No other purchase is necessary, but everyone who donates will be entered into a prize draw to win one of five limited-edition Skin Food Collection boxes!
