The Great Vegan Bake-Off 2017

Do you have what it takes to win PETA’s Great Vegan Bake-Off? The annual competition – now in its fifth year – is inviting bakers from all backgrounds to put their skills to the test and share their favourite egg- and dairy-free creations with the animal rights group.

Twelve finalists will have their recipes featured by PETA, and the winner will be crowned the Great Vegan Bake-Off Champion for 2017.

Last year’s winner, Obviously Vegan blogger Maisie Stedman of Newcastle upon Tyne, snagged top honours thanks to her Great British Lemon Meringue Show Stopper.

‘Innovative bakers are whipping up everything from cakes and macaroons to crumbles without a single egg or a drop of cows’ milk. PETA’s Great Vegan Bake-Off invites people from across the UK to get a taste of glory by showing off their finest cruelty-free creations.’

PETA – whose motto reads, in part, that ‘animals are not ours to eat or abuse in any other way’ – notes that vegan baking is kind to mother cows and to chickens, who are kept in tiny wire cages on filthy egg farms. Going vegan is also a great way to reduce our risk of suffering from heart disease, strokes, diabetes, obesity, and cancer.
