Weleda has launched a new hand sanitiser that uses effective natural ingredients.
Hand sanitiser has fast become an essential part of our daily hygiene routine, but many hand sanitisers contain harsh ingredients that leave skin dry and sensitive.
In fact, it is now estimated that over 50% of the population suffers from dry and sensitive skin.
The new Calendula & Chamomile Hand Sanitiser from clean beauty pioneer Weleda is made with all-natural ingredients, including organic grain alcohol, that provide effective anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties.
Tests show that it kills 99.9% of bacteria and viruses found on hands.
For the ultimate in sustainable ingredient sourcing, the calendula and chamomile are grown organically in Weleda’s biodynamic herb gardens in Derbyshire.
Glycerol has been added to keep skin supple, along with pure essential oil of grapefruit to provide a delicate fresh natural fragrance, making this hand sanitiser both skin friendly and a pleasure to use. The vegan formulation is made with 100% organic plant ingredients.
Weleda Calendula & Chamomile Hand Sanitiser comes in recyclable amber glass packaging which is beautifully decorated with botanical drawings of chamomile and calendula, and is available in a 60ml spray (RRP £5.95) and a 200ml refill size (RRP £14.95) for even greater sustainability.
In 2020, at the start of the Covid pandemic, Weleda introduced a hand sanitiser for internal use at its Derbyshire manufacturing headquarters.
Bottles were gifted to pharmacies and key workers to support those essential services.
Now that hand sanitisers have become an everyday must-have, a more sophisticated product was formulated with fragrant essential oils added for greater consumer appeal.
In its centenary year, clean beauty pioneer Weleda has become a certified B Corp.
Weleda wins new Marie Claire Sustainability Award for Best Supply Chain.
Weleda and DK publish an updated edition of Monty Waldin’s ‘biodynamic bible’.
