Plant Consciousness

An event that will revolutionise our relationship with plants
Green Shoot Picture from MyGreenPod Sustainable News

Our disconnect from the natural world has led to many (if not all) of the problems we face today on planet Earth – yet scientists are beginning to understand that our connection to the natural world runs far deeper than we may ever understand.

Plants talk – Dr Mariano Spiezia explains why we must listen

From farming to physics

Covering topics ranging from permaculture and shamanism to quantum physics, speakers at this year’s Plant Consciousness event will demonstrate, in dynamic ways, how we can re-establish our connection to Nature.

They will also explain why this reconnection is essential for the development of consciousness and the wellbeing of the planet.

‘On the first weekend of October 2014, hundreds of people gathered at Regent’s University, London, to explore a domain which is barely touched upon in mainstream society, ‘Plant Consciousness’.

‘What they came away with was something that is also missing from the everyday language of the status quo: ‘inspiration and awareness’. Congratulations to Archetype Events for having the vision and determination to stage this ground-breaking event.’

Sir Julian Rose, organic farmer, author & activist

Tickets

The event will be held at Regent’s University Conference Centre in Regent’s Park, London, on 26-27 September.

Tickets cost £139 for two full days of speakers, practicals, music, art and connection to hundreds of plant lovers! A single day ticket costs £89.

Learning from plants

We can learn so much from the inherent qualities of the plant kingdom and, if we look even closer, from the intelligence that lies behind it.

Plant Consciousness will bring together the values of plant neurobiology, permaculture, deep ecology, eco-psychology, sacred plant medicine, shamanism and herbalism.

Attend if you want to discover a deeper understanding and a new harmony with plants – and with your place in the biosphere of life on this planet.

Speakers

Bonny Casel

Bonny, owner and founder of the School of Natural Medicine UK, will present Plant Senses, Consciousness and Cooperative Evolution in a Quantum World.

Research has revealed that plants see, hear, smell, feel and communicate in profound ways, yet even so scientists refuse to acknowledge that plants are conscious life forms – because plants do not have a recognisable brain.

In this presentation, Bonny Casel will share her knowledge of plant senses and communication, and discuss how quantum physics reveals that both plant and human senses decode our vibrational world through quantum processes that arise from consciousness.

David Bruce Leonard

David, healer and founder of the Earth Medicine Institute in Hawai’i, will present Plant Gathering Practices and the Human Nervous System.

The perceptive skills and wisdom of ancient cultures is astounding. Daoist, African, Hawaiian and Native American traditions came to similar conclusions around the best ways to enhance human perception.

These cultures used specific techniques and protocols to enhance their natural intuition and to strengthen specific parts of their nervous system. This lecture will focus on the profound practices of our ancestors and correlations between those traditional practices and the natural design of the human nervous system.

Dr Dennis McKenna

Dennis, an ethnopharmacologist, will present Plant Human Coevolution Origins Of The Imagination (Day 1) and Perspectives On The Past & Future Of Ayahuasca (Day 2).

Imagination makes us human. Yet we rarely stop to consider where the imagination came from. If evolution endows nature’s creatures with traits that aid in survival and reproduction, what may she have intended when she created the imagination?

Kurikindi

Kurikindi, Shaman of the Kichwa Tribe of Equador, will present Equadorian Plant Shamanism.

Kurikindi will discuss the current situation in the Equadorian Rainforest and the dangers that it faces. He will also outline the medicinal plants that he works with and their shamanic connections and uses.

Maddy Harland

Maddy, editor of Permaculture Magazine, will present Permaculture – Gardening And Farming With Nature’s Intelligence.

Permaculture places Earth Care at its core and uses principles derived from observing Nature to design gardens, farms, communities and enterprises.

Maddy Harland unpacks permaculture principles and explains how we can place these insights at the centre of our designs, working with Nature to create abundant, earth-friendly systems.

Satish Kumar

Satish, editor-in-chief at Resurgence, will present Heal Ourselves Heal The World; Heal The World Heal Ourselves.

We are all related, interconnected and interdependent beings. Nature is just not out there – the forests, mountains and oceans – we are Nature, too. People cannot be healthy on a sick planet and the planet cannot be looked after and taken care of by sick people.

Healthy planet and healthy people are two sides of the same coin. Earth is sacred and all life is sacred. With that sense of the sacred we need to live in harmony with ourselves and with the natural world.
