Awarded an ISPO Gold Award In the category ‘Best Baselayer/Outdoor’, The Nature Dye 200 Oasis Long Sleeve Crewe is a versatile, merino wool baselayer top combining casual comfort with technical performance.
Continuing its commitment to working with progressive people with purpose, icebreaker collaborated with iconic New York based artist, Justin Brice Guariglia, who is renowned for large-scale works that address ecological issues.
The result is a provoking collection connected to the changing world. The collection uses exclusive imagery of the melting ice sheets of Greenland taken from a NASA science mission.
The images were applied to the icebreaker baselayer and extended to a 20-piece collection as a way of connecting people to the topic of the changing landscape in a different and more natural way.
The garment uses a Nature Dye technology drawn from sustainable plant-based pigments, making the garment fully biodegradable.
100% merino wool baselayer available for men and women in colours ‘Ash’ and ‘Husk’.
Merino is super lightweight, soft, non-itchy, non-clammy, warm in the cold and cool in the heat, and has a miraculous ability to resist odour.
The fabric has been dyed with sustainable plant pigments for a low-impact, authentic style. Plant dyes have natural irregularities and the colour evolves over time, offering a unique aesthetic that develops with wear.
Nature Dye is a low-impact method, using less water than with traditional synthetic dyeing. This innovation, combined with the powerful properties of merino wool, lets icebreaker create clothing that works in harmony with the body.
Merino is annually renewable and biodegradable, and in the right conditions can return to nature after wear, to nourish the Earth.
