Avallen is aged in French oak casks in the heart of La Manche. We choose to age our liquid for only two years to ensure it is fresh, crisp and unapologetically apple forward. The whole process is natural, using only wild yeast present on the apple skins and with no added sugar, caramel or boisé – ensuring a 100% natural product.
The nose is a freshly cooked apple pie with a hint of vanilla custard. It’s body is a richly warming with cinnamon, vanilla and star anise. Finally the finish is a lingering toffee apple finish
HOW TO DRINK
The natural way to enjoy Avallen is in our signature serve. Take a tall glass filled with ice, add in 50ml Avallen Calvados, pour in 150ml Tonic water and add in 2 dashes of your favourite cocktail bitters (optional). Garnish with an Apple slice and geranium flower.
Not a fan of tonic water then why not try a ‘True Normand’ ? Take a tall glass filled with ice, add in 50ml Avallen Calvados, then fill half the remaining space in the glass with fresh pressed apple juice before topping with ginger beer and garnish with an apple slice.
